”SU-EN Butoh Company’s headquarter Haglund Skola is surrounded by trees. So I watch them all year around. Each season the trees are beautiful and interesting. In the wintertime I enjoy the silhouettes, like it is the skeleton of the trees. When the moon shines and their shadows dance on the snow… In the springtime they first bloom, then the leaves come. The trees in the allée leading up to the main house are all maple trees, planted in 1905. When they are in full bloom, hundreds of bumblebees and other bees are drinking the nectar and there is a soft humming for about a week. A small explosion, and I can feel it in my body like a shivering. The last trees to complete their leafing is the aspen trees. It is already summertime, and their rustling leaves are calming my spirit. In the autumn the whole world turns yellow, golden and red. How marvellous to live in a golden world! Finally the trees let go of their leaves and the world turns brown. And again we are back to wintertime and winter trees.”
